Shredder from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" has managed to take over an organization dedicated to protecting Earth without even getting into a fight. Things are getting interesting in the TMNT comic book universe; IDW Publishing has launched a solo series centered on the young mutants' arch-nemesis, Shredder. Here, he is a truly ruthless and cunning adversary—far more dangerous than in the original comics. This is vividly demonstrated in the twelfth issue of "TMNT: Shredder": he has assumed a new position of power without the usual brawling or bloodshed, and now commands an entire army.

"Gun Honey" is a crime comic universe teeming with shady operators and sultry, gun-toting beauties.

A solo series centered on one of its characters—titled "Killproof: A Gun Honey Series"—was recently announced, with Titan Comics and Hard Case Crime handling publication. The story focuses on Evie Parker, a living weapon who nonetheless possesses a host of peculiar weaknesses. She has undergone genetic modifications that turned her into a literal counterpart to Bloodshot from Valiant Comics; this powerhouse feels no pain, fatigue, cold, hunger, or heat, and any wounds she sustains heal instantly. Evie is completely invulnerable—a unique trait that immediately lands her in trouble. In the first issue, she is abducted by the richest man on the planet, a tycoon determined to secure that same immortality and damage immunity at any cost. When you have that much money, you naturally want to live longer. It’s a petty motive, perhaps, but entirely understandable. Before this story came along, the franchise had already expanded to seven series, primarily featuring the arms dealer Joanna Tan. Now, however, she’ll have to make a little room—a new star is on the rise. The debut issue of this saga—featuring the unkillable geek girl and the world's wealthiest man—is slated for release in April 2027.
