"Gun Honey" is a crime comic universe teeming with shady operators and sultry, gun-toting beauties. A solo series centered on one of its characters—titled "Killproof: A Gun Honey Series"—was recently announced, with Titan Comics and Hard Case Crime handling publication. The story focuses on Evie Parker, a living weapon who nonetheless possesses a host of peculiar weaknesses. She has undergone genetic modifications that turned her into a literal counterpart to Bloodshot from Valiant Comics; this powerhouse feels no pain, fatigue, cold, hunger, or heat, and any wounds she sustains heal instantly. Evie is completely invulnerable—a unique trait that immediately lands her in trouble. In the milestone issue of "The Amazing Spider-Man", Aunt May’s son was revealed as the new villain, Ravager.

Marvel Comics released the landmark 1,000th issue of "The Amazing Spider-Man" in late September. The red-and-blue wall-crawler is attacked by the new villain, Ravager, and the major revelation follows: he is Cormac Crane, the biological son of Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Resentful that Peter had been close to the mother he himself had never met, Cormac used his powers to literally excise those memories from his beloved mother's mind and weaponize them. During the battle, Peter sees May’s memories of him—both good and bad. However, Cormac is also caught in the effect and suddenly experiences his cousin’s most traumatic night: the murder of Uncle Ben. Realizing that Peter could have stopped the killer, the villain grows to hate his relative even more. Ultimately, Spider-Man defeats Ravager and saves several bystanders. May’s memories confirm that she had indeed seen him as a worthy person. The issue concludes with Peter preparing for the next round. The story continues in the next issue, with "The Amazing Spider-Man" #1001 arriving on October 14.
