DC has announced "Dark Knights of Steel 2": A Traitor and an Ancient War. The publisher promises to usher in a new era, presenting a completely different take on the DC Universe. As the great Houses of El and Wayne, the Storm Kingdom, and the Amazons prepare for the return of escalating conflict, the peace forged at the end of the first installment is on the brink of collapse. The first saga presented a world built on prophecy, power, and fear. The arrival of the House of El sparked alliances and rivalries across the three great kingdoms, drawing the monarchs into a war none truly understood. Only when the dust settled did the truth emerge: shapeshifting invaders had orchestrated the conflict from the shadows. In July 2026, the story continues as the ancient war rages on.

The "Absolute Batman" comic is preparing an army of reimagined B-list villains. "Absolute Batman" is arguably the most financially successful comic reimagining a popular character in the last decade. DC Comics is certainly pleased with the new revenue. Surely a significant portion of this success is due to the reimagined villains—take, for example, the local Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, and the Joker. And the series will also feature a whole host of familiar Gotham thugs from the lower echelons.
