Mr. Freeze might help Batman defeat Poison Ivy. This week sees the release of the fourteenth issue of the ongoing Batman series, and the Dark Knight’s target has finally been revealed. As Ivy’s botanical creations spread across the city, Batman urgently needs to locate Mr. Freeze. The cold-blooded villain is far from pleased with the situation—and he may well be the key to stopping the rampaging villainess. Meanwhile, butler Verity Pennyworth is forced to defend the manor against attackers who have clearly underestimated exactly who they are dealing with. Batman’s stronghold turns into a battlefield in the dead of night, with dawn fast approaching. The comic hits shelves on October 7, 2026.

The release of the landmark 1,000th issue of The Amazing Spider-Man has been delayed due to printing problems.

The 1,000th issue of any periodical is a truly momentous occasion. The Amazing Spider-Man, one of Marvel Comics' flagship series, was scheduled to reach this milestone on September 16th. There's just a small hitch: the printing press used by the House of Ideas has experienced technical difficulties, and it will take a couple of weeks to resolve them. Marvel has sent out a notice to comic book store owners that the long-awaited The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will not be available on the announced date—the release is being delayed by at least two weeks, with the new expected release date set for September 30th. This applies to all 32 versions of the issue—the two main covers and 30 variants. Marvel typically uses three printing presses to print its comics, but has not disclosed which one is experiencing the issues. The digital release of The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 was also delayed, although there shouldn't have been any issues with the printers. But this was predictable—Marvel has long synchronized the release dates of its digital and print comics.
