Mr. Freeze might help Batman defeat Poison Ivy. This week sees the release of the fourteenth issue of the ongoing Batman series, and the Dark Knight’s target has finally been revealed. As Ivy’s botanical creations spread across the city, Batman urgently needs to locate Mr. Freeze. The cold-blooded villain is far from pleased with the situation—and he may well be the key to stopping the rampaging villainess. Meanwhile, butler Verity Pennyworth is forced to defend the manor against attackers who have clearly underestimated exactly who they are dealing with. Batman’s stronghold turns into a battlefield in the dead of night, with dawn fast approaching. The comic hits shelves on October 7, 2026.

Another record has been broken: a comic book page sold for a huge sum at Heritage Auctions.

The title page from Tales of Suspense #39 (1963) sold on July 10th for $3,875,000. The image shows the first appearance of Iron Man. It was drawn by the legendary Don Heck, and the script was written by Stan Lee himself. Previously, the highest price was for page #25 from Secret Wars #8, drawn by Mike Zeck (Punisher, Kraven's Last Hunt). It showed Spider-Man in his new black suit. Collecting original comic book art has been around for a long time, but the last decade has seen a huge surge. People are buying everything: comics, covers, individual pages, blank covers with art, even just pages with a small sketch. Now everything is valuable. Cheap picture books have long outgrown their status as simple entertainment for teenagers. It's now a huge industry with complex plots, top artists, and huge sales. Therefore, buying old pages and comics has long been a smart investment.
