In the milestone issue of "The Amazing Spider-Man", Aunt May’s son was revealed as the new villain, Ravager. Marvel Comics released the landmark 1,000th issue of "The Amazing Spider-Man" in late September. The red-and-blue wall-crawler is attacked by the new villain, Ravager, and the major revelation follows: he is Cormac Crane, the biological son of Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Resentful that Peter had been close to the mother he himself had never met, Cormac used his powers to literally excise those memories from his beloved mother's mind and weaponize them. During the battle, Peter sees May’s memories of him—both good and bad. However, Cormac is also caught in the effect and suddenly experiences his cousin’s most traumatic night: the murder of Uncle Ben. Realizing that Peter could have stopped the killer, the villain grows to hate his relative even more. Ultimately, Spider-Man defeats Ravager and saves several bystanders. X-Men comics will get retro covers.

Variant covers have arrived and completely changed the market. Marvel Comics understands this perfectly well and never misses a chance to add them at any opportunity. This summer, X-Men will travel back to the Neon Eighties with vibrant covers. Variant covers will begin appearing in July and August and will feature the following characters: Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, Rogue, Magik, and Mystique.
